How To Use a Hair Pick
To use a hair pick properly, you should dampen or moisturize your hair first. Ideally, make sure that your hair is slightly wet before you use the pick to comb it. You can use a spray bottle to spray water on your hair. This should be followed by dividing the hair into sections depending on its length and thickness. However, if you have short hair, there is no need to section it. Use hair bands to section your hair depending on its volume. Once you have sectioned your hair, apply a moisturizer on the sections. You can use a water-based moisturizer, coconut oil, jojoba, Shea butter or olive oil. The amount of moisturizer that you apply should depend on the recommendation of the manufacturer. This step is very important because it makes the texture of your hair slippery. Finally, use your afro pick to comb each section of your hair one at a time. Comb your hair gently from its ends to its roots. Do this on all sections of your hair. Once you are done combing all sections, comb the entire head from the front of your head to the back. This makes sure that your hair doesn’t have tangles by the time you finish the combing process.
